Alan R. Weiss, , has been in the computing and semiconductor and processor industry for 24 years, and has worked as a Software Engineer, Manager, Project Manager, Program Manager, and Software Architect on operating systems, compilers, database systems, and embedded real-time software. He Founded EEMBC Certification Laboratory (ECL, LLC) in 1998, and serves as the Chief Executive Officer and well as Chief Technical Officer. ECL has been profitable from Day 1, is debt-free, and has the top 60 semiconductor and software tools companies as clients. As CEO of ECL, he provides both strategic management as well as day-to-day operational management. As CTO, he continues to direct overall hands-on technical direction. In March of 2006, he merged ECL with Synchromesh Computing.

Mr. Weiss started Synchromesh Computing, LLC in December 2003 to provide advanced strategic consulting, development, product analysis, and other services, and serves as the President and CEO. Synchromesh Computing offers a wide range of development, certification, testing, and advisory services. Synchromesh Computing personnel have more experience with embedded tools than anyone else on the planet, and has grown rapidly to become the best-of-breed supplier of development services. Synchromesh Computing is growing quickly, and has a first-class customer list, is debt-free, and has been profitable since Day 1 - in keeping with Alan's desire to build a business grounded in the fundamentals of serving customers.

Before starting ECL, Mr. Weiss worked for Motorola for 6 years, most recently as Manager of Software Technologies and Principal Systems Software Engineer for Intelligent Transportation Systems, as well as a Software Architect for corporate-wide Speech Recognition technologies inside of Motorola. He was also named a Program Manager Master and is a Certified Software Inspections Trainer. He was the Manager of the Windows NT on PowerPC Functional and System Test group, which included managing 25 IBM and 50 Microsoft employees. He left Motorola to form ECL.

Prior to Motorola, he helped start up two software companies, including Tivoli Systems (where he was the first Software Test and Quality Assurance Manager on the first management team), and Locus Computing (where he was Functional and System Test Manager for AIX 370 and AIX PS/2). He was also a Program Manager for dBASE IV 1.1 (the one that worked) at Ashton-Tate.

He was a co-founder and was the Motorola Voting Board Member of the EDN Embedded Benchmark Consortium (EEMBC). He served as the first Chairperson of that consortium's Automotive/Industrial Subcommittee. He was the Project Manager for EEMBC's Technical Advisory Group (TechTAG) for 4 years, and was responsible for development of EEMBC's benchmarks.

Before that, he helped found and served as the first Vice-Chairman of the Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation (SPEC) Graphics Performance Committee Multimedia Benchmark Committee (SPEC Media). He is a recognized industry expert in microprocessor performance analysis and benchmarking, and sits on the Editorial Review Board of Microprocessor Report.

Mr. Weiss is the Project Manager for EEMBC's Technical Advisory Group, and is responsible for development of EEMBC's benchmarks.
